Chin & Cheek Augmentation

Our current work in this area involves Bioalcamid injections for HIV patients who have lost facial volume. This permanent implant has thus far demonstrated an excellent safety profile, and may someday replace Restylane SubQ as an injectable to non-surgically augment deep tissues in cosmetic patients. Surgical implants (silicone or Goretex) remain more traditional options.

An alternative approach involves inserting an implant between the bone and chin tissue through a short external incision under the chin or through an incision made in the mouth between the lower lip and the gum. Similarly, in some cases the cheekbones may be built up by placing an implant over them as shown.
